Dr Lim Ching Wei graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2004. He returned to Malaysia and practised in various medical specialties.

Subsequently , he undertook residency training in ophthalmology and was conferred Masters Degree in Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2013. He then went on to complete 3-years of subspecialty training in glaucoma and was accredited as a glaucoma subspecialist by Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2017. Whilst pursuing his subspecialty training, Dr Lim served as clinical fellow at Tan Tock Seng Hospital of National Healthcare Group in Singapore, where he has gained additional subspecialist expertise in glaucoma.

Dr Lim specialised in glaucoma, cataract surgery and general / comprehensive ophthalmology. He is widely experienced in performing cataract surgery and with subspecialist skills in glaucoma surgery including trabeculetomy, tube-shunt surgery and laser surgery.

Apart from clinical work, Dr Lim is also actively involved in research and education. He has a keen interest in training and teaching of medical students, resident doctors, paramedics and public health education.
